Q. Can my child be assigned to a specific team or coach?
A. You can indicate a preference on your registration form. Teams are formed by our Age Group Coordinators taking into consideration age, experience, neighborhood and team size. There is no guarantee that your child will be placed on a specific team or with a specific coach. Age Group Coordinators have the final say on player placement.
 
 
Q. My coach told me my child would be placed on his team, but he/she wasn't. Can I get a refund?
A. No. Teams are formed by our AGC's, not our coaches.
 
 
Q. Can I register my child in an older age group?
A.Our on-line registration system doesn't allow you to do this. We do make exceptions on a case by case basis. Register your child for the appropriate age group in the on-line registration system and note that you are requesting an exception to "play up". All requests to play up must be submitted in a separate e-mail to Justin Romano (justin@hockessinsoccerclub.com) and to the Instructional Director. For players wishing to play up in U-10 and above, the request must be also be accompanied by an e-mail recommendation from the child's most recent coach. The Instructional Director's decision is final.
 
 
Q. Can I register my child in a younger age group?
A. Our on-line registration system doesn't allow you to do this. We do make exceptions on a case by case basis if there is a physical basis for doing so. Please submit your request in an e-mail to Justin Romano (justin@hockessinsoccerclub.com) and the Instructional Director. The Instructional Director's decision is final.
 
 
Q. I missed the registration deadline. Can I still register?
A. Yes. You will be assessed a $20 late fee and your child will be placed on a waiting list and assigned a team subject to availability.
 
 
Q. When will I be notified what team my child has been placed on?
A. Your child's coach will contact you during the 2 weeks prior to the season start date. If you do not hear from a coach, please contact the Age Group Coordinator.
 
 
Q. My child was not placed on the team I requested. Can I get a refund?
A. No. Our policy is to issue refunds only in the case where a child can no longer participate due to medical reasons. Our AGCs' decision on team placement is final.
 
 
Q. My practice time is not when I requested? Can I get a refund?
A. No. We do our best to accommodate practice night requests, however we cannot guarantee that your child will be placed on a team that practices on the night that you requested.
 
 
Q. My practice location is not where I requested. Can I get a refund?
A. No. Our fields are all located within 5-10 minutes drive of each other and the HSC Clubhouse. In rare cases, where siblings have the opportunity to practice at the same location we will try to work that out.
 
 
Q. Where do I find information on game cancellations and field closures?
A. The HSC web-site is the place to check for field cancellations in case of inclement weather. Once a field is closed, that information is posted at the top right of the HSC Home Page (www.hockessinsoccerclub.com). If you are playing an Inter-Club game at an away field, it is your responsibility to check the home Club's web-site for cancellation.
