November, 2008- Boys' U-10 Hammerheads crowned Champions.
The Hammerheads completed a successful season by finishing in first place in Delco Division 2 with a 7-1-1 record. They went on to defeat their opponents in two hard fought games this weekend, claiming the Championship trophy. Congratulations Hammerheads!

November, 2008- The HSC United went 8-2-1 en route to its Championship. During the season, United outscored its opponents by 21 goals. United allowed only 10 goals all season and held their opponents to one goal or less in all but one game.

November, 2008- Boys' U10 Wave complete successful first season.
The Wave finished 6-2-2, in third place in Delco Division 5 (2nd in the regular season). They earned a semi-final berth and had a great match against a much improved Garnet Valley team whom they had beaten earlier in the year. Formed this season from a core of 6 kids who tried out last spring and adding 6 more as the season progressed the Wave kids worked hard improving their skills as individuals and coming to gether as a team. Good results on the field followed and much fun was had by all. In addition to their Delco results the Wave had a good showing in the Mt Laurel tournament over Columbus Day and will finish their season in the Hempfield Classic this weekend. The Wave would like to thank their parents, Manager Dan Barrish, Trainer Justin Romano, Assistant Coach John Garcia and Head Coach Alan Nall for making this successful season possible.

November, 2008- The HSC Hammers U11 Academy team were semi-finalist this fall. The boys started the season with four straight shut-outs. Team play and communication were key to the success of the Hammers. The team pulled together to finish with a winning season and a strong foundation moving into spring. Great Job Hammers!

November, 2008- The Boys' U-12 Thunder started their playoff run by beating the #2 team in the opposing bracket to earn a playoff spot. They beat the undefeated #1 seed, Baltimore Bays 2-0 in the quarter finals, the #3 seed PSC Coppa 3-2 in overtime during the semi-finals. Thunder played Fallston in the finals to a 0-0 tied through regulation, and 2 regular overtimes in muddy and cold conditions. Thunder eventually conceded 2 goals in the last overtime play where the goalies were unable to use their hands. Congrats on a great season.

November, 2008- HSC's U12 Boys Lightning won their first division title Saturday, beating the Lower Merion United 3-1 in the US Clubs1 Division Championship. Consistently strong defense and outstanding ball control by the whole team kept the Lightning in first place through the 2nd half of the season. The Lightning applied these skills again in the Championship game. Great job Lightning!

November, 2008-HSC Girls' U-13 Blast Earn Championship Title in Top Division of PAGS
The Hockessin Blast U-13 girl’s soccer team won the Philadelphia Area Girls Soccer League (PAGS) Premier Division championship on Sunday, November 16th at Radnor High School. The victory earned the girls a championship in the top division, of eight divisions overall, in a league that features nearly 80 teams from Baltimore, Delaware, and Eastern Pennsylvania. The Blast ended their league season with a record of 9-1-1 and an overall record of 14-4-4. The Blast defeated FC Delco in the championship game 1-0 on a header goal off of a corner kick. The Blast Keeper earned the shutout victory, her 7th of the league season and 12th overall for the Fall. Strong team defense was a staple of the team’s play throughout the entire season. The team earned their trip to the finals with a 4-1 victory over BSA Rage on Saturday, November 15th.
The Blast are the reigning state champions and will begin their defense of that title this Spring.

October, 2008- The U9 Gunners love tournament play. Early this season the Gunners won the Competitive Group at the KSC tournament on Labor Day Weekend. The Gunners outscored their opponents 17-1 and went 2-0-1 to win their group division. On Columbus Day, they played in the top division of the Cape Express tournament and went 3-0 in their bracket. They outscored their opponents 12-4. Great team effort from all.

September 2008- Congratulations to the Girls' U-13 Storm who were undefeated Champions in the 2008 Labor Day Tournament. Go Storm!

August 2008- Congratulations to the U-10 Girls Force for winning the West Chester Classic and Collen Reilly tournaments undefeated!

August 2008- Congratulations to the U10 Girls Academy Elite who won the Gold bracket of the Spirit United Kickoff Classic .

August 2008- Congratulations to the Hockessin Soccer Club’s U12 Academy LadyHawks who went 4-0 while winning the twelve team U-12 Elite age group of the Spirit United Kickoff Classic Tournament in Downingtown, PA on August 23-24. During the four games, eight different players scored 10 goals while the team only conceded two in this premiere tournament.

August 2008- HSC U12 Academy LadyHawks collect nearly a ton of food for needy Delawareans.
One of the team objectives of the HSC U12 Academy LadyHawks is to not only develop soccer skills, but to provide opportunities for the girls to give back to the community through meaningful activities. When the idea of community service was raised by Coach Bob Varell during the spriing, the girls eagerly generated ideas. As a result, after a training session on August 14, the LadyHawks were able to donate 1,786 pounds of food they collected from friends and neighbors to the Food Bank of Delaware. Great job girls!

August 2008- Congratulations to the Girls U-13 HSC Storm on their Division Championship at the 20th Annual Colleen Reilly soccer tournament held in Horsham, PA. The Storm were 3-0-1 and only allowed one goal. Go Storm.

June 2008- The Girls U-13 Blast State Cup Champions met with US Women's National team Player, Abby Wambach, during the Region I competition in Portland, ME.

May, 2008- The U11 Boys Thunder won the FC Delco Players Cup Tournament. They won all three matches and defeated their opponents 17-2 in bracket play. They survived a PK shootout to win the semi-final match and ultimately won the championship match with a 1-0 score to become Player’s Cup champions!

Kirkwood Indoor League Champions - Hockessin Clash U10 Girls
March, 2008 - The Hockessin Clash U10 girls won the championship game of the KSC indoor league 7-2 over the KSC Crush. The girls completed an undefeated season, going 8-0, scoring 64 goals while giving up only 11.

Girls' U-12 Wilmington Friends Futsal League Finalists & Semi-Finalists
The Girls' U-12 Flash, Storm & Blast participated as mixed teams in the 2008 Wilmington Friends Futsal League. The HSC White team lost in the Championship game to KSC Blue in sudden death overtime, 3-2. The HSC Purple were Semi-Finalists.

Kirkwood 2008 Indoor League Champions- Hockessin U-13G Spirit White
The Hockessin Spirit White Girls U-13 won the Kirkwood Competitive Indoor league and playoffs. The team went through the season undefeated. This is the team’s second straight seasonal championship.

The Hockessin Hammers U10 boys - Champions - 2008 Kirkwood Indoor Competitive Soccer.
The Hammers went 7-1 to win the premier bracket of the indoor league. Once again, true teamwork was demonstrated as they won the Championship game against Kirkwood's Roma. The boys hard work and determination won the season with a total of 33 GF.

University of Delaware Futsal Classic 2007
The HSC U-10 Hammers Developmental Academy team went undefeated in winning the U10 Boys Championship at the University of Delaware Futsal Classic indoor soccer tournament held December 26, 2007.

The HSC U-10 Hammers Developmental Academy team went undefeated in the Cape May Tournament over Columbus Day weekend. The Hammers faced three strong teams and dominated the field, keeping possession the majority of each game. True team work won the weekend! Way to go Hammers!!

Congratulations to the HSC U11 Academy LadyHawks who went 4-0 winning the Blue Flight Championship of the Kirkwood Girls Premier Columbus Day Frederick Cup 2007 tournament on October 6-7. During the tournament the LadyHawks scored 10 goals whiles only conceding one. The championship was capped off by a 1-0 victory over the Concord Ridgebacks.
