The Hockessin Soccer Club Representative program is for children interested in playing at the highest competitive level. Where as the Instructional program focuses locally within New Castle County or the club, the Representative (or Travel) program allows serious players the opportunity to test their soccer skills against players of other clubs.
Within the Tri-state area, there are approximately 75 soccer clubs within 90 miles of Hockessin. Typically, these clubs provide most of the league competition. Additionally, all representative teams participate in tournament play. Two to three times a year, teams will select from literally thousands of youth soccer tournaments in the area. Tournaments allow Representative teams to compete against clubs from outside of the tri-state area. From time to time, very competitive teams will even travel internationally or more to play the very best teams. In recent years, the Hockessin Soccer Club has been represented in several very prestigious tournaments locally and around the globe.
The intention of Representative soccer is for each team, regardless of level, to play teams of a similar competitive level. The goal is to develop soccer players of the highest caliber possible. The club does, however, sponsor various playing levels by age within the Representative program.
It should also be noted that Representative soccer requires a certain level of commitment from both the player and the parent. Practices are generally two times a week with games on either Saturday or Sunday. Teams generally play year round. The most competitive coaches are selected to lead these teams and typically most teams will hold a tryout once a year. The club advertises tryout dates once a year - typically in April or May. TRAINERS
The Hockessin Soccer Club is pleased to have the following trainers approved by the club's Director of Coaching for "HSC Premier Training". They are available for hire by individual teams at the following hourly rates. Payment is made from the team directly to the trainer for their services. REPRESENTATIVE TEAM UNIFORMS
Holly Bechard will be coordinating the uniforms this year for all the teams. She will be working with Bill Boyer at Premier Soccer placing the orders and following up on them. All orders should be sent to Holly (bechard5@aol.com) via email and she will handle the order for the club.
Uniform order forms can be found at the link below. There are 2 forms to be filled out and returned. There are sample uniforms in the clubhouse that are available to try on during regular business hours. Call the clubhouse to be sure that someone will be there.
All orders need to be placed by July 20th. It takes approximately 1 month for the uniform order to be completed. Holly also needs to have checks for your orders at the time they are placed. Checks should be made to Premier Soccer.
